Fel Sweetenberg takes it back to the streets with Dave Ghetto and Baby Blak on this SoFlo Entertainment single. “Save Ya Life” is a compelling cipher addressed to the codes of the inner-city, where knowledge over-powers pride….and that in itself determines if you’ll end up face down floating in the shallows. Now put the record on repeat. Are they speaking of the street code, or is this some deep wordplay of advice to those new faces in the music scene? Decide yourself.

This track was featured this week on HipHopDx.com and OnSmash

Fel Sweetenberg’s next LP, Sophomore Jinx, is out now on SoFlo Entertainment.

Biography

Hailing from the lost city of Camden, NJ, this emcee/producer represents one-third of the critically acclaimed Nuthouse crew. The group debuted in 1998 with the classic 12″, A Luv Supream on Bobbito’s fabled Fondle ‘Em imprint. Goodvibe Recordings quickly followed up with a Nuthouse EP entitled Deez Nuts which featured cameos by El da Sensai (Artifacts), Planet (Outerspace) and Diamond Back (Deadly Snakes). Fel was also featured on the Dave Ghetto “Love Life” 12″ and LP (Counterflow Recordings), and the Embodiment of Instrumentation LP by Scratch from The Roots’ (Rope-A-Dope/Atlantic Records).

Fel appeared with Slum Village and Bahamadia on the 2000 Goodvibe tour, and has rocked mics on both coasts with hip hop all-stars such as Aceyalone and Jean Grae. Most recently, Fel was a featured producer at Beat Society events in D.C. and Philadelphia, sharing the stage with Little Brother, Kanye West, 88 Keys, Bahamadia, and many others. His songs with The Nuthouse have garnered significant college and mixshow airplay, and received a substantial amount of positive press.

His latest release “Sweet’s Day Off”, (Break Bread Projects, 2008) is an instrumental ode to Sweet’s favorite past time…making beats. “It’s just something that i wanted to give the people as a taste, before i really let the moster out the closet. He is currently finishing up his second studio LP, “The Sophomore Jinx” slated for a 2009 release on Break Bread Projects.
